Mary’s passion for yoga has taken her from her home studios in Chicago on a journey around the world. She is fascinated by the science of living. Mary has been fortunate to train with expert teachers in a range of styles including traditional Hatha, Vinyasa, PranaVinyasa with Shiva Rea, Yoga Medicine with Tiffany Cruikshank, Yoga for Addiction and Trauma Recovery with Nikki Myers, Advanced Teacher Training at Yandara Yoga Institute as well as periods living in yoga ashrams and Buddhist Meditation Retreat centers throughout India and Nepal.
She served as the head yoga teacher at Hariharalaya Yoga & Meditation Retreat Center in Cambodia for over a year, including managing the internship program for new teachers on the path. She has been the Yoga & Wellness Director at Nihi Sumba Island for the past three years, named "Best Hotel in the World" by Travel+Leisure. She also leads retreats, trainings, and service projects around the world, as well as an online mentorship program.
After spending much of the last five years living in third world countries, she feels strongly about responsible tourism and giving back local communities. In 2019, Mary is leading a service project with Africa Yoga Project and Nikki Myers to help others take their yoga practice off the mat to make a positive impact on the world.
